Back To Reality…
Kia Ora!
Not much goin on the last week except being part a world that’s become clinically bi-polar! Euphoria of an upcoming US Administation change mixed with daily reports of global recession… and I also heard that Lord Buddha has returned and they are calling him Buddha Boy! We in nz have jumped on the ‘Change’ bandwagon and switched from a ‘centre-centre-left’ govt to a ‘centre-centre-right’ one. The campaign was a complete sham and made the US one look intellegent! For all the attention it received (we had record voter registration) actual voting was horrifyingly low! And while our goverments are pumping trillions into Banks worldwide, 200,000 people are homeless in The Congo which is looking like the new Darfur. Did you know that spending 4% annually of the US Bailout could end end world hunger?
So what’s that got to do with music? Not much and everything! Many big skeletons are going to come walking out of our closets over the next few years and one way or another music is always a barometer of the times. Times are getting confusing and tough for everyone, musicians may become some of the only people telling the truth.
